On May 2, 2024 the Village Officials received emails from Sandusky Register Editor, Matt Westerhold. Before the Village could respond, Mr. Westerhold published his story. Since then, he has published an editorial. Now Mr. Westerhold has submitted more questions covering the same subject area all having their roots in the former Fiscal Officer Mary Bruno events.
The Village of Milan is a great place to live, visit and raise a family. This administration and prior administrations have worked very hard to accomplish that atmosphere. Internally, the Village has worked hard to revise its policies, procedures, and ordinances to make its operation more efficient, transparent, and compliant with the Auditor of Ohio’s suggestions.
Former Fiscal Officer Bruno was removed from employment in 2017. The Village has long ago moved past the situation and the administration and employees have focused their energy on making the Village the great place it is. The Village wishes Mr. Westerhold would also move past the 2017 event and focus his energy on all the positive things the Village has to offer. Since Mr. Westerhold seems motivated not to take that path, the Village will continue to use its energy to make the Village a great place and not focus on a 7-year-old event and not answer Mr. Westerhold’s questions or commenting on his published material regarding the Village of Milan on this subject.
If any resident wants to address any of their concerns, please reach out to Mayor Crosby.
